Leeds fest
We went to the Leeds 'Carling' weekend fest.. to the Friday day/night actually. 'We' was Joe, Ronan, Joe's mate George Chubbmeister Chubb and rocking dad. I went specifically to see Pearl Jam but saw some newer bands and a lot of comedians (Ronan and I split up from the other two so they could meet up with their mates without an old fart and a 12 yr old (albeit a cool 12 yr old) in tow ;-)
Tom and Tony both txtd me to ask what Pearl Jam were like. They were fantastic.. we met back up with Joe and George just after I'd polished of my supper of bacon ciabatta, pint of carling (naturallY0 and a bag of pick and mic (I did say old fart before didn't I ?).
To quote my txt response back to them:
"Awesome. Truly. One of those I-was-there moments, to be in the middle (of the crowd) with 16yr old Joe who was raised on them and we both rocking out was sublime"
If I wasn't enjoying it so much i may have got a lump in my all too melancholic throat, it can't be 12 years since this young man bopping about next to me was grinning at the home video camera and telling me his favourite bands were 'neevanar and pwerl cham' can it?
