Lest I Forget

notes from a midlife muser - grabbing those thoughts before they turn to memory mush

2 out of 3 thankfully ain't bad ;-)

I like to make patterns of life's events, even small ones. Piscean trait? Nudging a psychosis? Who knows ;-)
Anyway, the 3 pronged pattern for this weekend is ... falling off. Yep, falling off.
Fall 1: we're out for a walk up at the top of the valley (hey Green for those of you in da area) and Lian balances her bag on the wall of the bridge that crosses the river (is the Colne? I think so and I should know). I say in true Dad way " careful, that bag'll fall". "It won't,” she says (holding back on the "you fascist git" which I'm sure was under her breath "I've got my hand in it". And the hand then dislodges the camera she has with her. Down falls the camera off the bridge and on to the rocks below. So I have to take off shoes and socks to descend the grassy slopes, over slippy rocks and to get it.

Fall 2: The Dog can't resist the chance to get at 2 ducks in one of the canal boat turning areas. Normally it would be full of water but someone has left one of lock gates open and all the water has drained out. SO she really fancies her chances of getting to them.. Across the thick black mud which has sat at the bottom of the canal for 150 (or more??) years. I don’t think she meant to go in,, just hover near the edge, but in she fell/jumped. Rest of evening spent outside in the garden trying to clean the sticky stuff off her. LOL.

Fall3: thankfully didn't happen. One of Joe's mates (Jake) was up in Joe's room and went out on to his roof... I spotted him heading up to the ridge tiles, higher up. Yikes. I called him down before he became one of the falling off statitics,
So - happy to say 2 out of 3 thankfully ain't bad ;-)

After drama group tonight I went to the pub and Angela joined us. She used to do drama but left a while back, which is a pity - I liked her centred, calm approach to getting into a role. Anyway - she told me Rachel (her daughter) has had a run of epilepsy and we spent a while sharing views... my nocturnal catalepsy isn't anywhere near as scary / debilitating but I want to same consultant and had similar tests done a couple o years ago so I hope I helped alleviated some of her worries on that score. I didn't realise Rachel was 22 and doing an M.A post-grad course until last week. When I last saw her I'm sure she was about to star college! Time and its acceleration with age, collapsing viewpoints and all that. Jeez.
