Lest I Forget

that old chestnut

Gingerism: I haven't banged on about this for a long while but I caught some prattle on BBC radio one yesterday evening that got my blood up (again).. Wes (?) a Dj was making jokes about "non-complements" and thought that 'you've got really nice ginger hair' and ' guys with ginger hair' were cracking examples of ironic, non-complements. ha bloody ha.
I did my righteous anger bit (oh dear) and sent in txt to the station straight off.. You couldn't (rightly) take the piss out of afro hair, black skin etc .. So why the seemingly socially acceptable gingerism.. It causes bullying and unhappiness, particularly having DJs condone it. Moron.

I ran a blog a couple of years ago (http://gingerism.blogspot.com/) that had even more spectacular rants on ;-)
I'll leave this one at that though.

Yeah I am equally p*ssed off about it. Ask people to put 'black' *disabled* etc in the sentence and see if they would still feel comfortable about saying it!

Is gingerism a form of discrimination or a slight colour variation distinquishing how bright some people are. Then why would anyone accept the stigma of being ginger when their are so many hair products on the market and are they all gay?
