Lest I Forget

notes from a midlife muser - grabbing those thoughts before they turn to memory mush

Radiohead and txthead

I saw Radiohead at MEN Arena tonight. A weird one as it was corporate invite - viewing the stage from the Pannone (Lawyers) box. You don't quite get a gig the same from that vantage point, but nice people all the same and all seemed to like the show, not just there for corporate nonsense.
The free beer and the fact that I'm a bit giddy from getting a train there and back (very novel for biffa office car commuter) means I'm not tired. So I'm clearing my phone txt inbox. Before I delete all 150 though I wanted to save a few... not sure why other than I think txts can be like Polaroid’s - unstaged / off the cuff that say something about a time, a moment even if you later forget the context of the surrounding narrative or situation.
here are a choice few from the oldest 50 :

"I have found the aspirational Mark .. a geeza outside my bro's local looks like you and guess what? he has a didgeridoo and hand drums ;-) " [Tony 26 05 03].

"Boys are idiots. they keep saying I was asleep but I wasn't. They won't leave it. I can tel this is gona b a fun week. I wanna go home. I'll cope I guess. x" [Lian 27 05 03]

" have a nice week but not too nice as I don't want you to forget me" [Lian 27 05 03]

" Just been up Finchley rd past old spud-u-like. aah memories ..." [Anita 07 07 03]

" Hi, it Ronan. Has game arrived yet? txt back poo poo head! " [Ronan 15 07 03]

"Daddy who do you love more, Izzy or chips? " [Tony 18 07 03]

" Hi. I cudn't find mine or Joe's key so we took ures bt now we cant get in! Any tips? thers a window open so we can send J or ron in! love, ure kids xxx " [Lian 12 08 03]

More to follow when I clear out some more :)

DramaRama#2

Looks more likely that the play will be in for 17th Dec, at The Riverhead (I still need to check with them!).

Some minor edits made last night with the cast contributing some thoughts a la 'my character wouldn't say that', (chuckle) which is cool and I'm not being too precious (honest). It's a good thing because it shows they are in to it as a real piece of theatre - last night it was particularly Martin because he's really read it and worked through/with the part and Jo, as she instinctively got her character so quickly, as only an intelligent true actor could.

All sounds a bit up myself there, sorry.
