Lest I Forget

notes from a midlife muser - grabbing those thoughts before they turn to memory mush

where's my liver?

When typed in to Google, this gave some illuniating answers. I know where most of my organs are , one in particular , chuckle chuckle, but had no idea where the big red jellyfish lived. Now I do. (top right of abdomen, durrr).

I'm seeing the doctor on monday for a run through on my abnormal blood test results - linked to 'liver issues'. I'm no Georgey Best and the occasional paracetemol is the hardest drug for me , so that's 2 out of the possible 100 (guessing) biochemical factors that could be at play accounted for. My money is on leeching dental mercury - would explain last few years of migraines and the tremors? conspiracy conspiracy blah blah blah. ;-)

waxing on

I quite liderally waxed on last night, playing daughter random snatches from my 45s collection. very random but huddled around the genres of punk and metal, with some outlying prog rock. Stranglers, Squeeze, Yes, Vardis, John Ottway - no rhyme or reason to the running order... She has requested a tape of the best (as defined by me). I am blessed to have such discerning offspring.

Things I wish I'd blogged ..

.. whilst on holiday.
We were in the Dordogne for the past two weeks (actually been back at work a week now) and I wish I'd blogged some thoughts whilst there. Because sitting here at my desk with the vague impetus to recall some insights into life, family etc - gained on the beach or over a beer in the campsite - and I find I can't recall that much. Suffice to say (suffice is a splendid word) that we had a good time and I was grouchy dad maybe once or twice only , chilled out dad the rest of the time ... my version of reality anyway ;)
