We read through the Play tonight at Drama. Without Martin who is playing the main character so it was only so useful. I read the part which was strange in that I've never actually verbalised the part I wrote - have only ever read it with an inner voice/character.
Gilly had some good points about one particular scene that needs reworking but she did it in her slightly aggressive way which is her way of covering her uneasiness of offering criticism. I have an issue with criticism masquerading as suggestion, so we negotiated remarkably well around it ;) . I respect her years of acting experience and her talent and like her a lot so there was no need to edge around the issue but I am pleased she did. The writing, reviewing, sharing and directing is all a new process for me , which I get a buzz from.
In theory the play is on, on December 9th IF I can get the pub booked and IF martin puts in lots of work over a 5 week period (half term in the way).
Its late and everyone is in bed. I'm too full of Drama buzz and some Beer (not much) to sleep. The hamsters have just jumped of the very squeely wheel .. oh no, typed too soon , here it goes again, I'd WD40 it but I think the spray would be toxic for them?
