Lest I Forget

notes from a midlife muser - grabbing those thoughts before they turn to memory mush

Happy Hogmanay

With thoughts of Hogmanay tonight and a nod in the direction of my Wee_Gran_Watson who could read palms and tea leaves - I thought I'd enquire of the coming year.
W_G_W passed on years ago, so I had to consult earth-bound seers - one hi-tech, one not so.
In the Hi-tech corner is ALAN - the chatbot of a-i.com, in the other is the mystic ball Lian got for Christmas.
A lovely 70's purple orb which has a little window that words float up to when you shake it. Not as clever as Alan but more tactile.

3 questions asked, answers from each were:

Will we have a world war in 2003?

Mystic Globe: Looking Good
Alan: I can't say for sure right now.

Will there be a hot Summer in England this year?
Mystic Globe:
Yes
Alan: Ahh...THIS year? That's interesting.
The weather inside the computer is always the same - not too hot, not too cold.

Do you believe in life after death?
Mystic Globe: Forget about it
Alan: No I don't, but I did in the past.
I'm much more mature than I used to be.

so - that's pretty inconclusive then. Maybe I'll find the answers at the bottom of a pint at the party tonight?
Happy New Year where ever you are.

ouch

Its my age - a night out with the guys at work in Manchester and I'm feeling verrry tired and nursing a sore head.
We managed to stay in more or less a cohesive group throughout the evening this time - like most works do's we usually end the evening in 3 or 4 different venues.
Most random outcome of the evening was Tony waking up in the old Hacienda's ongoing building site.
