Lest I Forget

notes from a midlife muser - grabbing those thoughts before they turn to memory mush

wot, can't spell?

I have been merrily correcting my American cousins, on various neurology sites, on their (I thought) USA mis-spelling of 'tremor'.
Or 'tremour' as I have erroneously been telling them.
38 and can't spell.
wotever.

It’s a sunny Thursday in September and I’m blogging from a train on my way to London for a client meeting.
You’re looking nice today England.
Though some of those clouds look likely to expand later today.

I saw a program on Sky last night about ‘rods’ – possibly life forms we’ve only just noticed with the advent of camcorders and hi-res image manipulation –
maybe bogus but who knows?
I love all that ‘unexplained’ TV content, orbs, rods , things that whoosh in the night – great stuff ;)

Art wise – not a lot happening, as I’m too busy at work for independent creative thought of an evening.
Got some ideas for the flying man/dogs style and a couple of canvasses to use up so may get cracking soon.

Middle aged man in a field just waved to the train… I wouldn’t, seems a bit strange that.
In the midlands and the hay is still out in bales. You can tell you’re not in Yorkshire.

what's up

Some rapid-fire updates on what's up in my world

Art: haven't painted for a while but am feeling twitchy again to get colouring on canvass.
I saw some great sculpture by Mick Geddes, an artist who used reclaimed materials (his ironwork is great) to make amusing, whimsical works.
Got me fired up and thinking about learning to use a blowtorch.

Acting: we are still devising/improvising the final bits of a script for a play to be performed in February.
I play (again) an outwardly nice man who's actually a bit of a psycho. Oh dear.
And as of Monday night, as an evil spirit, I get to touch one of the women's breasts in a haunting scene. Oh dear again.

Family: The kids are back at school and we're into the autumn routine of dark mornings and grey evenings.
Joe and Ronan getting into the Judo and Lian entering every singing and acting audition she can.
Anita and I are continuing to slave for a wage and to occasionally sit down for a grown up talk and a beer ;)

Typing this s-l-o-w-l-y as I hurt my left shoulder and bicep overdoing the weight training last night. Ouch.

September 01, 2002

In between a migraine, flood-proofing the garage, weight training (2 nights in a row - now THAT'S a mid life crisis baby) and drinking red wine with the Mrs, I rebuilt the markkelly.net site.
What a productive weekend that was. Migraine is still lingering and the internal tremours have been bad last couple of nights, so time to switch off the Mac and go get some water before bed. laters.
