The last word

With my exhibition now down, the last word on it's merits go to Jo.
I used to work with Jo at the now defunct CDM (north) in Bradford.
She's a nice person. And knows more about Art than I do.

'I really liked the 'Circles' and the 'Moors' ones,
probably because I prefer abstract work. Ben Nicholson is one of
my favourite artists. The other paintings were good too but for me they
would need an explanation for me to appreciate what they were about -
they look as if they have very deep and meaningful thinking behind them
though, you will have to reveal all....'

Six point Two Five Billion

I've been thinking about the problems of a web site/home page/blog really summing up everything that you, as author, are about.
Couple of questions - why try? and - who cares anyway?
Put up what you can , when you can, this can only be a stone skimming the surface of your life (something like that anyway).

With 6.25 Billion souls on this world - this blog can only reach a few. Thanks for being one of them.

Found this site , a year too late by the looks of it, but it makes great reading.
Good looking lady too (hee hee). And a quote from Blade Runner - even better.

an easy mistake

I sometimes get asked (ok, a long time ago some people asked) if I'm the Mark Kelly, the axe-miester from Marillion.
No, I'm not. I did play in a very bad metal band in the 80's but we never made the dizzy heights of Top of The Pops like Marillion did. I sort of remember seeing them at The Limelight in London though and they also had an Aylesbury connection. Synchronicity, a splendid thing.
Anyway - them Mark you may be looking for is here

If it was the NASA astronaut of the same name you wanted, look here.

Famous name-sakes , boy do I feel inadequate.
Though I do have more hair than both. tee hee.

This won't happen then ...

this from a helpful man at a domain reseller..

MarkKelly.com is available for sale. However if you do a Google.com search
engine you will find 1.4 million results. This is a POPULAR name.
Therefore the price of the name is $795.

if you're Mark Kelly also, contact me , we could go shares on the URL?? ;)

Karl's Komments
this just in from my friend Karl on the exhibition ...

saw your paintings tuesday, liked them a lot, especially on right side as go in- playful, spiritual.
that dog is really cool. liked the leaning stone and the bloated upside down (dead) sheep, witty, original.
I see the blue man is back- who is he? what on earth is going in that big painting with bull !!!!

Karl is a real artist (writer) with great ideas so I'm chuffed with his views.

Bush Baby Bulletin

aaaahhh ....think of my friends Amy and Joe, out in the bush in Oz, as you sit in your office/college/house ...

We thought we may be murdered on the first night, the silence, size of sky, weird noises and spiders, snakes, bats etc can freak you out,
but then we settled into it and are both converted bush babies!
I have NEVER seen sky like the night sky up here.

but maybe you are under sunny skies already?
what's that like? :)

no pressure then ...

"The best bloggers weigh in on social and political issues, report nuggets of information
that the national media miss or suppress, and provide links to other bloggers with something sharp to say."
posted on blogger.com today

ooer ..... better get my act together then ;)
I claim my finders fee
Tony aka WeaselBoy has started a blog, chuckle at his bearded ways here
and the winner is ...

first feedback from my exhibition:
Lynn from Mikron Theatre Company -
"we love the pictures! (Why is the sheep committing suicide?)"

thank you and I don't know. Wasn't when I painted it.It was flying, of course.
analogise this ...

Sperm head buddha

[work snip]

Its Wednesday. I can feel but not see the sun through the office skylights and I'm listening to a remix of Voice of Buddha by Brain Twins on my phones which are jacked into my hp laptop.
Human League for the trance generation. Or something.
I'm checking designs for a new site about support stockings, which I'm showing to a client later (craving the coffee and biscuits already).
And I just got photo'd with a foam sperm_hat over my head, using a Canon G2 digital camera for a screen saver we're doing.

The Boiler has broken so no hot water or heating when I get home. doh.
No pictures sold yet either. double doh.

exhibition haiku

abstracts of nature
if badly represented
do not make good art ;)

i wrote this b4 someone else did ...

can you put a smiley on haiku?
I have, so , ya can now.
If I move this site to a paid_for_host I'll post some of said exhibition up and you can judge for yourself why buyers maybe haven't been forthcoming.
ho hum.
Text angst

too much text
There is so much text in the world that this little bit doesn't make any difference at all.

got to agree with Geoff there but I too am happy adding to it

May 06, 2002

this Blog was meant to be about my art exhibition - so:
pictures up on Friday, today is Monday and none sold (that I know of), no phone calls or emails about it either.
maybe I should have publicised it?...

May 01, 2002

so... hello
the first post of my new blog.
hot topic (for me) - I'm about to complete a series of paintings for my latest exhibition.
hey Mark ! Sounds cool
Yeah, but it's only my second and is again taking place in the small West Yorkshire (UK) village where I live.
I'm more Hockney (I wish) than Hirst but unlike them I've got (and will always have) the day job.
New to Blogger but if I can figure it out I'll post up some scans of the work in question (mmm nice, thanks Mark)
Don't you go away now!
I'll be examining more of the navel fluff of my life soon:
why did I get that tattoo? does starting weight training at 38 really mean I'm middle aged?
Will this new venture in global journals change my (or your) life? where did all my hair go?
... laters.
